Our indoor pillow and outdoor pillow collection promises there’s the perfect sized pillow for your space whether you need mini or small for you neck, standard or regular, large, huge or jumbo. Starting with our Mighty floor pillow at 92cm x 92cm, the Big pillow at 63cm x 63cm , the Essential pillow at 51cm x 51cm , our Lumbar pillow at 40cm x 63cm, and finally, the Junior pillow 40cm x 40cm, a crowd favourite coming.

How Many Cushion Pillows Do I Need?

The best pillow quantity choice is yours! But we do understand it can be quite tricky to know where to start when it comes to choosing how many pillows you require for your space, living room, bedroom or home. As a rough guide we recommend the following for pillow quantities:

The 2 - 2.5 seater: build the foundations of comfortable lounging with these sofa pillows; x2 Big pillows or x2 Essential couch pillows, and 1x Junior pillow.

The 3 seater: More room = more sofa pillows! Style together x4-x5 Big pillows or Essential pillows for a luxuriously full aesthetic.

The 4 seater: x4 - x6 Big couch pillows or Essential couch pillows will bring your couch to life. Add on x2 Lumbar pillows and x2 Junior pillows as the cherry on top.

Beds: For a queen sized bed, we love the look of x2 Big bed pillows on either side, followed by x2 Essential pillows with either the choice of the Lumbar or Junior pillow to bring the aesthetic full circle. For bigger or smaller beds, you can add or take away as many pillows as you like due to the versatility and design of our pillows.

How To Choose The Best Pillows?

Luckily, our pillow collections offer a varied colour palette and a range of the comfiest pillow fabric materials to suit any interior. It’s important to slowly bring in the addition of pillows to a space that thoughtfully matches them, so start by observing what you have already in your space and highlight different colours, materials and artwork that will further be complimented by Hommey’s pillow covers.

Do Pillows Need Covers?

We recommend popping a pillow cover over your Hommey pillow inserts. This will not only add more colour, interest and depth to your space - but it will also protect the pillow inserts and prolong your pillows longevity, so you can have your pillows forever.

How Do I Keep My Pillows In Good Condition And Comfortable?

Machine Washable Covers

If the pillow product care tag says that the pillow cover can be machine washed, simply unzip the pillow cover and remove it from the pillow. Once the pillow cover is placed in the washing machine, pop the pillow cover a gentle cycle in cold water with mild, natural detergent. Make sure the pillow cover is zipped up before (just in case the pillow cover twists and turns into a tangled mess). pillow covers can be hung outside on the line, or to avoid shrinkage, place the damp pillow cover onto the pillow and let it dry molding itself to the shape of the pillow for the perfect fit.

Hand Washing

Make sure you take a good look at the pillow cover care tag to see if the pillow cover is machine washable. If not, there are a few steps you can take to get rid of any stubborn stains on your pillow cover. Firstly, remove the pillow cover from the pillow inner so the inner doesn’t get damaged or wet. In a spray bottle, mix 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 cup of water, and 2 tablespoons of all natural dish soap. Lightly spray the pillow cover stain and give the mixture a minute or so to sink into the pillow cover.

Once the liquid has settled into the pillow cover, lightly dab the stain with a cloth until it has removed - do not scrub aggressively as this may damage the fibres in the pillow cover. Once the pillow cover stain is gone, use a separate clean rag and make it damp with clean water to rinse the spot, leaving it fresh to dry. Top tip: baking soda is a great tool to use on pillow cover stains that have a stronger odour - simply leave overnight and repeat the above steps.

Once you’ve completed the pillow cover spot stain removal, give the pillow an overall clean to make sure all remaining dirt is gone. Add a drop or two of natural dish soap to a damp cloth and gently rub the entire pillow cover with it, covering each corner of the pillow cover. Repeat until there is no dirt left and use a new damp cloth to rinse the pillow free of remaining dish soap.

How Often Should I Clean My Pillow Covers?

Scheduling time to clean and maintain freshness of your pillow covers should definitely be part of your cleaning routine! Removing dirt and dust from your pillow covers can be done once a week with a vacuum cleaner, and we recommend washing the pillow covers every three months to prolong the pillows high-quality and longevity. If you notice a stain on your pillow cover, we recommend jumping on the clean up job as soon as possible for ease of removal from your pillow. Once you’re done with the regular maintenance, you’ll be ready to sit back and enjoy your space in all of its freshness.
