What are the features and benefits of your bedding?
Our bedding collection is made with 100% organic cotton and is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. We’ve stonewashed our bedding for a distinctly soft feel, finishing them with colour-matched zippers for quick and easy bed changing.
When choosing the material for our bedding, we went with organic cotton that is woven with a superior sateen technique for high breathability. Not to be confused with satin, this fabric is a great choice for all seasons as it helps regulate body temperature, allowing your skin to happily breathe.
How can your bedding feel premium with a 240 thread count?
A thread count is the measure of the number of threads woven into one square inch of fabric. This is calculated by counting the number of horizontal threads and the number of vertical threads which make up the weave of the fabric.
While a thread count can tell us the amount of threads, it cannot tell us the quality of them—and quality should be the main point of consideration when investing in a fabric. In short, thread count has nothing to do with a fabric’s breathability, comfort or softness.
When designing our collection, we wanted to use a high-quality fabric that was responsibly sourced. This led us to choose 100% organic cotton, which had been woven with a superior sateen technique. Cotton sateen fabric has a smooth and silky texture, providing a luxurious feel against the skin.
By carefully choosing this premium material, we discovered that a 240 thread count was the perfect balance between softness and affordability without sacrificing the high-quality standard of Hommey products. It’s also easy to care for, durable and does not require special handling.
